I made it along to my first Open Coffee networking event in Cork this morning!
Networking events in Cork can be hard to come by, and when they do pop up you’ll be expecting to put your hand in your pocket. Not the case with OCC! It’s a free networking event where people are invited along to sit and chat over a coffee and a snack. Brilliant!
I was kicking myself this morning when I discovered not a single clean pair of trousers, so as I walked in in my jeans and trainers I was a little apprehensive. However not to worry! OCC is a very informal, easy going event with no expectations as to the type of person that attends.
Like myself there was a lot of first timers so it was easy to settle in and get to know people, while sharing stories and having a chat. This morning there was roughly twenty people in attendance! I was told that the numbers go up and down from week to week, but there’s always a bit of life and a laugh to be had! Happy to report I met some really nice people!
For any business person trying to develop their business, making new connections is important! The power of networking can not be forgotten about! Sharing ideas and experiences with others can be a productive way of learning about new innovations. It also allows you to hear contrasting perspectives that you can take with you, enabling you form your own opinions!
Open Coffee Cork takes place on Fridays in either Nosh+Coffee, Carey’s Lane or the Rubicon Centre CIT. For more detailed and up to date information visit the website at http://corkopencoffee.org/
